The Mixed Service Unit 44 - Institut Biomédical du Val de la Bièvre is under the supervision Paris-Saclay University and Inserm. It provides essential support to fundamental and translational research activities at Bicêtre hospital and Paul-Brousse hospital, but also offers its services to other research structures. It has various services and technical platforms: imaging, genomics, cytometry and support services (live model, laundromat, L2 laboratories, communication, infrastructure, management center, etc.).

The Department of Immunology brings together 3 functional units covering the various aspects of immunology and pathologies of the immune system: autoimmunity and immunochemistry (autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, dysglobulinemia), histocompatibility and immunogenetics (transplants, HLA-disease, immune deficiencies) and cellular immunology (immunosuppression, anti-infectious immunity and transplants). It is associated with several National Reference Centers.
